Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) opportunities in Kentucky for full-time day and night shifts (7a-7p, 7a-7-3p and 7p-7a). A new shift differential of 30% above base pay applies for hours 7p-7a.

RNs will provide psychiatric and medical care across populations, including geropsych, chemically dependent adults, and pediatric groups, applying nursing theories to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Kentucky RN license; CPR certification.
• Nursing experience providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: 1 year inpatient behavioral health and 1 year medical-surgical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
• Assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations.
• Initiate and document special treatment procedures.
• Provide and direct milieu management.
• Document nursing care, treatment and patient’s response to treatment.
• Provide health education to patients.

Registered Nurse

Responsible for implementation of the nursing process in all aspects of patient care for all patient populations including geropsych, chemically dependent adults, adult psych, adolescents and children. Assures a comprehensive approach to patient care by applying appropriate theories to psychiatric nursing practice for all patients.
