Universal Health Services in Grand Forks, ND, seeks a Registered Nurse for our brand-new Altru Behavioral Health Center unit. The 24-bed inpatient unit will serve adult and pediatric patients, with plans to add 24 beds in 2026.

You will assess, monitor and document patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to ensure compassionate, high-quality treatment. Responsibilities include initial assessments, individualized care plans, and coordinating nursing care

Qualifications

• State RN Certification/License
• CPR, BLS and ACLS certifications
• 1-3 years of nursing experience
• Crisis prevention experience
• Ability to manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others
• Ability to manage stress appropriately
• Proficient in applicable software applications
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficient in mathematical and analytical skills as they apply to clinical duties

Registered Nurse- Behavioral Health - 12 Hour shifts (Days or Night Shifts available) - Full-time positions are eligible for our $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Full-time or part-time positions available with benefits.

Horizon Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for our BRAND NEW unit called Altru Behavioral Health Center in Grand Forks, ND. This unit will be a 24 bed inpatient unit for both adult and pediatric patients. We are also planning to expand to an additional 24 beds in 2026. Altru Health System and Universal Health Services are working together in expanding inpatient behavioral health services.This position is responsible for assessing, monitoring, recording and reporting symptoms or changes in patient conditions. RNs are required to maintain accurate patient reports and medical histories, perform mental and physical assessments, administer medication and treatment to patients, provide assistance to patients with daily activities and observe reactions. They are also responsible for managing activities with the therapeutic milieu including daily groups, education, 1:1 with individual patients and collaborating with other members of the treatment team to insure the best possible care for the patients.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial nursing assessment with 24 hours of admission on per facility policy; reassess routinely throughout patients’ stay at the facility
• Complete individualized treatment plans for each patient
• Plan, implement and coordinate nursing care activities for patients.
• Conduct therapies in accordance with patient’s diagnosis and needs.
• Perform treatment intervention following physician orders such as medication administration and medical treatment orders.
• Medication reconciliation
• Follow voluntary and involuntary procedure/process.
• Interpret the nursing and treatment needs of the patient to nonclinical staff assigned to the patient.
• Insure patient dignity and respect patient values. Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, families and friends.
