The Admiral at the Lake in Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift in our Skilled Nursing team. The role is full-time with three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, providing high-quality, person-centered care to residents.

You will lead care plans, supervise staff, coordinate with an interdisciplinary team, and ensure safety, comfort, and dignity for residents while maintaining accurate EMR records.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Assess residents on admission and perform ongoing nursing assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Supervise LPNs and Care Partners to ensure quality care.
  • Educate residents and families about health conditions and care.
  • Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in residents' conditions.
  • Document care in the EMR accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the care team to optimize outcomes.
  • Provide emotional and spiritual support as needed.

Description

The Admiral at the Lake is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Skilled Nursing team on the night shift. This full-time position consists of three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, person-centered nursing care while promoting the health, safety, and well-being of our residents. Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, you will assess resident needs, develop individualized care plans, supervise nursing staff, educate residents and families, and ensure exceptional clinical outcomes.

  • Assess residents upon admission and perform ongoing nursing assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized, person-centered care plans.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care within the RN scope of practice.
  • Monitor resident conditions, including vital signs, and respond to changes in condition.
  • Communicate resident care needs with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Supervise LPNs and Care Partners to ensure quality resident care.
  • Educate residents and families regarding health conditions, medications, and self-care.
  • Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents and their families.
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of resident care.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to safely bend, lift, transfer, and assist residents.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of Registered Nurse experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for the majority of the shift.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, and transfer residents weighing up to 250 pounds with assistance when appropriate.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work in a healthcare environment with exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, odors, and other healthcare-related conditions.
  • Safely respond to emergency situations involving residents.
