Job summary

InterCommunity, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to play a crucial role in promoting whole-person health. You'll provide alcohol and drug-focused nursing assessments, administer medications, monitor patient health, and facilitate crisis interventions under the supervision of the Residential Nurse Manager. The position requires a current Connecticut RN License and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in executing InterCommunity’s mission to promote whole‑person health. Under the supervision and direction of the Residential Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse is responsible for providing alcohol and drug‑focused nursing assessment at admission to the program, medication administration, and ongoing client health monitoring, including treatment coordination.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Timely administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Complete focused alcohol and drug assessments at admission to the program.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Order, transcribe and reconcile medications per MD order as needed.
  • Facilitate effective crisis intervention.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans to include referral to higher level of care.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve best patient outcomes.
  • Direct or supervise less‑skilled nursing or healthcare personnel.
  • Refer patients to specialized health resources or community agencies furnishing assistance.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

*Attendance at required staff meetings and assigned trainings is now a condition of employment and will be treated as paid work time.

Requirements
Education &/Or Experience
  • Current Connecticut RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification
  • EPIC experience preferred, but not required.
