Location: M7E
Schedule: 36 Hours (Days/Nights / Every Other Weekend)
About the Medical Surgical/7 East Department at BMC:

7 East is a 36-bed Medical-Surgical Unit serving Family Medicine and Renal patients, including Peritoneal Dialysis and Hemodialysis patients. Candidates must demonstrate cultural competence and professional integrity to provide optimal patient care.

Position Summary:

As an RN in Medical Surgical, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care within a supportive nursing organization, enabling you to provide the high-quality care patients deserve.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver nursing care including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
  2. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
  3. Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
  4. Update and manage patient records.
  5. Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
  6. Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization.
  7. Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
Job Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
  • 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
  • Certification in BLS; ACLS certification required in certain units.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification for certain practice areas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language is a plus.
