Ideal candidates will have an accredited nursing degree, Michigan RN licensure, and 2+ years of acute care experience. BLS certification and vaccinations are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum two years of direct clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical nursing or related acute care settings.
• Active Michigan RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification.
• Tuberculosis screening and required vaccinations (including influenza).

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across medical and surgical units, adapting to diverse patient populations and clinical settings.
• Assess patient conditions and identify potential complications prior to significant changes in vital signs or clinical status.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient assessment and clinical best practices.
• Perform a wide range of nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards of care.
• Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and responses to treatment with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff regarding patient status and care plans.
• Maintain a safe and clean patient environment while adhering to infection control and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and requests while managing multiple patient assignments efficiently.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability as a regional float nurse, transitioning between units and shifts as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum two years of direct clinical nursing experience in medical‑surgical nursing or related acute care settings, with demonstrated competency in patient care delivery and clinical judgment.
• Proven ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical environments and patient populations.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Demonstrated proficiency in performing a comprehensive range of nursing interventions and procedures within established protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Commitment to flexibility and willingness to float across multiple units and locations within the Henry Ford Health system.

Certifications/Licensures Required

• Current, active licensure from the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current tuberculosis screening and required vaccinations (including influenza).
