Job description

The registered nurse provides highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They oversee other team members and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver population-specific care in accordance with BORN regulations and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current MA RN license required.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of nursing experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2 years of ED experience preferred.

Skills and Certifications:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
  • CPR certification required within 3 months of employment.
  • Evidence of ongoing education and professional development.
  • ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications required within the first year.
  • CEN or CCRN preferred.

Work Environment:

The RN works in various patient care settings, with potential exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, human waste, and other challenging conditions. Responsibilities may include general cleaning and working with agitated or combative patients.

Physical Standards:

  • Activities are performed constantly, frequently, or occasionally as specified.
  • Tasks involve walking, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, crawling, twisting, balancing, pushing, pulling, and lifting with specified weights.
  • Sensory requirements include visual and auditory activities, with specific needs for color vision and monitoring equipment.
