Job summary

SageWest Health Care in Fremont County, Wyoming, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Recovery Unit on a full-time basis. The role focuses on post-anesthesia care, monitoring vitals, and ensuring patient comfort after surgery.

The ideal candidate will have an RN license, BSN/ASN or diploma, BCLS, ACLS as required, and at least 1 year of nursing experience. SageWest Health Care operates two hospitals, one in Riverton and one in Lander.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN/ASN/ Diploma).
• Current state RN license.
• BCLS certification.
• ACLS certification as required by facility.

Responsibilities

• Cares for surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia.
• Monitors vital signs and patient status.
• Comforts patients waking from anesthesia.
• Checks surgical site for bleeding or swelling.
• Documents care and communicates patient status.
• Educates patients on wound care and discharge.
• Performs duties with minimal supervision.
• Escalates complex issues to senior staff.

Job Summary

Plans and administers professional nursing care to patients in the recovery room/post-anesthesia care unit.

Essential Functions

• Cares for surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia.
• Monitors vital signs, such as heart or respiratory rate, blood pressure, or oxygen level.
• Comforts patients as they wake; may be required to gently restrain patients.
• Checks surgical site for excessive bleeding or swelling.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates care given, patient's status and reactions to interventions.
• Educates patients on care for the surgical wound or other post-discharge care.
• Performs work under minimal supervision.
• Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

Qualifications

Education
