Job summary

IU Health Fort Wayne Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse Quality Coordinator to help build and support its quality and performance improvement program as it opens a new facility. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physician and nursing leadership, and infection prevention staff to improve outcomes and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BSN is required and RN license must be active in Indiana or NLC.
• Master's degree in clinical healthcare or business is preferred.
• RN must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• CPHQ certification is preferred.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience is preferred.
• BLS certification through AHA preferred; other advanced life support may be required by unit.
• Experience in report writing and graphical data presentation preferred.
• Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the hospital-wide Quality Program.
• Lead performance improvement initiatives and facilitate interdisciplinary project teams.
• Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends, gaps in care, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support peer review activities in collaboration with medical staff leaders (40-50% of workload).
• Prepare quality reports, dashboards, and graphical data presentations (approximately 40% of workload).
• Assist with regulatory readiness, accreditation activities, and compliance efforts (approximately 10% of workload).
• Collaborate with Infection Prevention, Nursing, Medical Staff, Trauma, and Stroke Program leaders.
• Provide education and training on quality improvement methodologies, data analysis, and process improvement tools.
• Participate in regional and system-wide quality initiatives and meetings.
• Partner with data and analytics teams to support data capture, validation, and reporting.

Position Summary

As IU Health prepares to open its new Fort Wayne Hospital, the Registered Nurse Quality Coordinator will play a key role in building and supporting the hospital's quality and performance improvement program. This position partners with interdisciplinary teams, physician leaders, nursing leadership, and infection prevention staff to improve clinical outcomes, enhance patient safety, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The RN Quality Coordinator develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates continuous quality improvement initiatives, independently leads workgroups, analyzes gaps in care, and facilitates performance improvement activities aligned with organizational goals and strategic priorities.

• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification preferred.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification through the AHA., preferred Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Experience in report writing and graphical display preferred.
• Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Applications preferred.
