Job summary

Novant Health's Pulmonary Care Unit (PCU) is seeking a registered nurse to provide care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD and pneumonia. This role emphasizes consistency, work-life balance, and nights scheduling.

The position offers a fixed Sunday–Tuesday night schedule (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), four consecutive days off, day-one benefits, and relocation assistance up to $7,500, with strong teamwork and opportunities to advance pulmonary and progressive care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of acute nursing experience.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
• Perform respiratory assessments and monitor changing patient conditions.
• Manage pulmonary care including tracheostomies, ventilators, chest tubes, and oxygen therapies.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families while supporting recovery and safe transitions of care.

What We're Looking For

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Experience:One year of acute nursing experience required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
