Job summary

Universal Health Services, The Ridge Behavioral Health System in Lexington, KY, is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time, 12-hour shifts with a $15,000 sign-on bonus. The RN will join a team dedicated to compassionate, trauma-informed care in a licensed 110-bed hospital offering psychiatric and substance use treatment.

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care per Standards of Practice, adhering to corporate policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accurately and timely completes admissions, assessments, orders, treatment plan, inventory, nutritional screening, progress notes, patient education, and medication administration.
• Provides crisis intervention as needed by anticipating and responding to escalating behaviors, using de-escalation techniques to ensure safety.
• Uses counseling skills to de-escalate aggression, listen actively, maintain boundaries, and promote a positive peer culture.

Located in Lexington, Kentucky, The Ridge offers a healing environment to reassure patients’ sense of security and confidentiality. Dedicated to excellence, The Ridge is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, as a licensed, 110-bed hospital, providing psychiatric (mental health) and substance use disorder (drug and alcohol rehabilitation) services to children, adolescents and adults. Inpatient care is provided on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. Outpatient and partial hospitalization services are provided on a five-day per week basis, days and evenings. Care is provided according to an established code of ethical conduct and strict adherence to patient rights.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within the treatment milieu utilizing Standards of Nursing Practice and Care. The Registered Nurse follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Programs, and performs other duties as assigned.

Job Duties Include:

• Accurately and timely completes the following duties: new patient admissions, assessment, orders, treatment plan, property inventory, nutritional screening, progress note, patient education, safe and efficient medication administration.
• Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
• Uses appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and promoting a positive peer culture.
