Universal Health Services' Ridge Behavioral Health System in Lexington, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time 12-hour shift (11:00 am – 11:30 pm) at our free-standing psychiatric hospital. Join a team expanding services to meet community needs in central Kentucky.

As a unit-based role, you will assist with admissions/discharges, support RNs, de-escalate mood situations, and help maintain a respectful, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Current KY nursing license required in Kentucky.

The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital located in the heart of the Bluegrass, Lexington, KY. The Ridge provides psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The Ridge offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, as well as Medication Management for all ages. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years.

Job Duties include:

• Provides in person support for admissions and discharges in the facility.
• Responsible for assistting the Unit Registered Nurses with processing new admissions including but not limited to new admission paperwork and skin assessments.
• Uses appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and promoting a positive peer culture.
