Job description

Unit Description:
  • Nights - Full Time
  • No Per Diem openings

Position Overview:

As a nurse on the Progressive Care Unit, you will care for a wide range of moderately complex patients across two units, R3 and R4. The PCU offers advanced monitoring with sophisticated equipment, intensive treatments, and a team approach to promote wellness through assessment, monitoring, and education for critically ill patients.

Patient Diagnoses: The primary conditions treated include compromised airway requiring respiratory therapy, controlled infusion of antiarrhythmic or vasoactive IV drugs, acute poisoning, suicide attempts, multisystem failure, neurologic abnormalities, metabolic crisis, multiple trauma, chest pain, myocardial infarction, heart failure, hemodynamic instability, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, post-anesthesia care, mechanical ventilation, cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia analysis, thrombolytic therapy, GI bleeding, internal/external pacing, electrical cardioversion, acute dialysis (peritoneal, hemodialysis), and post-cardiac arrest care.

Professional Growth: PCU nurses are encouraged and supported in professional development through committee participation, education seminars, certifications, degree advancement, LEAD program, preceptor courses, and departmental education initiatives.

Additional Details:
  • On-call: Not required
  • Incentives: $10K RN Sign-On Bonus for full-time (pro-rated for part-time). Differential pay: evenings $3.00, nights $4.00, weekends $3.25. Up to $9,200 in relocation assistance.
