Job summary

Heart Hospital of Austin is looking for a Registered Nurse Progressive Care PRN to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. In this role, you will collaborate with medical providers for pre-operative and post-operative care, advocating for patients to ensure an unparalleled experience.

Qualifications

  • Must obtain ACLS within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Must obtain BCLS within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition and report changes during each shift.
  • Perform nursing procedures as ordered by medical providers.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications and procedures for patient care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role
  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitor response.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
Qualifications you will need
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse (RN) credential
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma

No Travel Required.
