Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Occupational Health Nurse to provide comprehensive health services for a Washington DC facility. You will conduct emergency treatment, wellness screenings, immunizations, and case management for workers’ compensation while maintaining data in health software.
Responsibilities include trend analysis, program maintenance, and collaboration with the Medical Director and client teams. Strong communication and multitasking are essential.
• Provide occupational health services supporting the client’s Health Unit
• Provide non-emergency and emergency treatment, including fitness-for-duty exams, preventative screenings, allergy shots, immunizations, and assessment or treatment of workplace illnesses and injuries
• Promote wellness initiatives, clinical assessments, health screenings, and immunizations
• Treat minor injuries, including suturing, suture removal, abrasions, and minor musculoskeletal injuries
• Provide consultations for occupational and non-occupational illnesses
• Maintain the medical surveillance program for the Washington D.C. Facility
• Document and maintain employee injury and wellness data using Occupational Health and Safety software
• Document health trends and identify improvement opportunities and achievements
• Act as nurse case manager for workers’ compensation cases
• Provide occupational health services including audiometry, spirometry screenings, immunizations, and workers’ compensation follow-up
• Use web-based systems, Occupational Health and Safety software, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Assist the Medical Director with monitoring local, state, and federal mailboxes and escalate urgent matters
• Review and interpret spirometry and pulmonary function tests
• Review audiograms, determine work-relatedness of hearing loss, conduct follow-up, and manage audiometric databases
• Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent and emergent situations per protocol
• Maintain work areas, exam rooms, and supplies
• Attend meetings, prepare additional reports, follow client policies and Cayuse work practices, and perform other assigned duties
• Report to the Program Manager
