Job summary

New Hope Treatment Centers in the Town of Milton, NY is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. Under general supervision, you will plan and direct nursing care for residents in accordance with established philosophies and coordinate with other shifts for continuity of care.

You will administer medications, perform intake assessments, participate in multidisciplinary teams, and assist in discharge planning.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse in good standing.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Must be available 24/7.
  • Must have an Associates or Bachelors degree in nursing (ASN/BSN).
  • Must be 21 years of age and able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

It might be the best decision you make this year.Job Summary: Registered NurseUnder general supervision, plans and directs nursing care for the residents in accordance with established philosophies. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments; participates in all phases of education and the maintenance of records. The unique job functions outlined are designed with a focus on safety and quality.Essential Functions:Demonstrates an understanding of growth and development issues about the populations under their care.Demonstrates an understanding as well as an ability to work within the specific milieu of the population under their care.Assists in the management of aggressive residents as needed, using only de-escalation and behavior management techniques approved by New Hope Treatment Centers.Provides documentation in the clinical record of resident behavior and interventions.Administration of prescribed medications and treatments within the scope of practice.Performs assessments and medical needs at intakeCoordinates medical areas of discharge processAdheres to standing orders for admission procedures and the administration of over-the-counter medications as needed.Reports the medical needs of residents to the physician and coordinates medical care required.Responsible for nurse case management duties.Oversees through completion, nursing assessment and lab work within required time frames of admission.Participates and acts as contributing members of multidisciplinary treatment team.Schedules and coordinates medical appointmentsGenerating and reviewing monthly Medication Administration Records.Matching physician’s orders to the medication administration records.Observing employees supervising self-administration of medications at least quarterly.Assisting interdisciplinary teams to develop educational goals for children taking regularly prescribed medications and participating in a supervised self-administration protocol.Instructing employees in dietary or medication administration issues as necessary.Responding to emergency calls from employees on medical issues.Conducting ongoing assessments of each child’s health needs to include existing medical conditions, dietary issues and medications.Compliance with the above rules may be found in the agency’s medical section of its policy and procedure manual and could be found in the agency’s job descriptions and/or contract with nursing contracted staff.Training & Directing AMAP StaffQualifications:Must possess a current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in a state with compact privileges.Basic computer skills are a must.MUST BE AVAILABLE 24/7Must have an Associates or Bachelors degree in nursingMust be 21 years of ageMust pass a background check and drug screenThe nursing employees of the organization shall assess each child or youth for the ability to self-medicate with supervision if the organization allows such administration before the youth is admitted into the program. Children not capable of participating in a plan shall have medications administered by licensed nursing employees or approved medication assistive employees as set forth in the Department’s rule, “Delegation of Medication Administration and Health Maintenance Tasks to Approved Medication Assistive Personnel,” 64CSR60. This requirement does not apply to organizations that operate shelters with a no refusal policy.
