Job summary

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health in Temple, Texas, is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) to join our acute inpatient team. This role involves coordinating and evaluating patient care in collaboration with the health care team, following the nursing process and standards of care.

Responsibilities include prioritizing plans of care, documenting changes, and educating patients and families about health, communication, and social skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of one year of nursing experience; two years in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification required; Seclusion and Restraint training within 30 days of employment.
• Handle with Care training and Service Excellence Training within 30 days of employment.

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health is a 102-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Central Texas town of Temple, Texas. Canyon Creek features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs. Position Summary

The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.

Job Duties

• Document and reassess any significant changes in the patient's condition in compliance with facility policy.

Qualifications

• Education: Required: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing; Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience preferred; minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility preferred.
• Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
• Additional Requirements: CPR certification and training in appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint within 30 days of employment. Successful completion of Handle with Care training and Service Excellence Training within 30 days of employment. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
