Job Overview

Promotes optimal health, well‑being, and safety through the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and the Idaho Nurse Practice Act. Provides relationship‑based care by recognizing the patient, family, and/or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate, coordinated, and culturally competent care based on respect for patients’ preferences, values, and needs. Engages fully within nursing and inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making to achieve quality patient care. Integrates the best current evidence into clinical practice and uses data to monitor and improve the outcomes of care processes. Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for an assigned patient population
• Assists physician during examinations and procedures
• Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
• Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patient and family to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills
• Exhibits a wide degree of creativity and latitude in care delivery
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times and follows HIPAA regulations and policies

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program
• State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure or current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice compact with Idaho prior to start date
• BLS required

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
• Typical equipment used in a clinical job
• On feet a minimum of 8–12 hours, depending on length of shift
• Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, and pushing heavy equipment up to 50 pounds
• Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature, and other printed and handwritten materials
• Must be able to assist in patient transfer
• Exposure to needles, blood, and body fluids, etc.
