Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - Carrollton is seeking a Registered Nurse Preop PACU to provide comprehensive nursing care from preoperative to PACU, ensuring patient safety and comfort following anesthesia. The role emphasizes weekday coverage with no holidays, weekends, nights, or calls.

The nurse will support physicians in the operating environment, manage patient assessments, and coordinate discharge planning while maintaining high standards of professional communication and documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required, PALS if required by the center.
• 1 year of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients preop and in PACU after anesthesia or sedation.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
• Perform assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Registered Nurse Preop PACU at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - Carrollton

The Registered Nurse Preop PACU provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
