GENERAL SUMMARY

Henry Ford Fairlane seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for its Recovery Room - Breech department to support the Pre-Op / PACU areas

Part Time Benefits

The Pre-Op / PACUnurse:

• Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Ideal candidates will haveprevious Pre-Op /PACU experience and be ACLS certified.

SCHEDULE INFORMATION:

The schedule will require working 5 days/wk. in a 2 week pay period.

Hours will only be scheduledMonday - Friday.

There are no weekend, holiday or on call hours at this time.

The nurse selected for this critical role will be trained to work in both the Pre-Op and PACU areas.Pre-Op hours aretypically 05:30-14:00; PACU hours are typically 07:00-15:30. Nurseswill occasionally need to be flexibledepending upon patient discharge timing.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The nurse manager describes the department as having a "family atmosphere". They are a close-knit,supportive group that will pitch in to help others when needed. Pre-Op can sometimes involve working in tandem with another nurse to expedite getting the patient readyfor their procedures. There is a pretty courtyard onsite where many take their lunch breaks when the weather is nice..

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• Pre-Op /PACU experience required
• Critical care, ER, ICU experience strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• ACLS certification preferred.
