Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Mansfield is seeking a Registered Nurse Preop/PACU to provide continuity and high-quality nursing care for patients emerging from anesthesia, prioritizing safety, comfort, and privacy.

The role focuses on a weekday schedule with no holidays, weekends, nights, or on-call duties, offering work-life balance in a supportive perioperative team. Texas RN licensure, BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate RN must be licensed in Texas; BLS and ACLS required, PALS if applicable.
• 2 years of PACU or critical care experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment and provide patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and high-quality nursing care for patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation.
• Assess, plan, and implement care with emphasis on patient safety, comfort, and privacy.

Registered Nurse Preop/Pacu at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Mansfield

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. Experienced in surgical procedures in the following specialties: General, Robotic, Colon & Rectal Surgery, ENT, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Urology, Gynecology, Spine, and Pain Management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
