Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse for our Pre-Admission Testing team in Arlington, TX. The RN will implement the Pre-Op holding record, assimilate the patient’s hospital record, perform pre-op testing, and ensure continuity and quality of nursing care for surgical patients.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current Texas nursing license, CPR; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Texas Nursing License.
  • Current CPR; ACLS preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of hospital experience.
  • Two years Critical Care experience preferred.
  • PreOp/PACU experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and good organization.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Pre-Op holding record and assimilate the patient’s hospital record.
  • Perform needed pre-op testing and ensure continuity and quality of nursing care.
  • Support the Director of Pre-op/PACU with patient care coordination.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and safe patient handling across ages.

Registered Nurse PAT at Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington
  • Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pre-op/PACU/PAT/Pain and the Charge Nurse of Pre-Admissions, the nurse is responsible for implementing the Pre-Op holding record (patients’ medical record), and the assimilation of the patients’ hospital record.
  • The pre-admission nurse is also responsible for implementing the nursing process performing needed pre-op testing and providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for patients.
Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure/Certification
  • Current Texas Nursing License.
  • Current CPR, ACLS preferred.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) years' experience in a hospital setting.
  • 2 years Critical Care experience preferred.
  • PreOp PACU experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organization habits.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
  • Excellent teaching skills.
  • Basic knowledge of continuous quality improvement ideology.
