Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator/Supervisor for the PSU and ED to lead nursing care for post-surgical patients and ensure safe, high-quality care. The role reports to the PSU Manager and CNO and guides staff when the Manager is unavailable.

Requirements include a Texas RN license, 2+ years in hospital nursing (M/S, ER or ICU preferred), and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Texas Nursing License.
  • Minimum 2 years’ clinical RN experience in hospital Medical/Surgical; ER or ICU preferred.
  • Leadership and education experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, organize, coordinate and implement nursing care for post-surgical patients.
  • Ensure highest quality and safe patient care; maintain compliance with standards.
  • Cares for patients from 2 years to geriatric; respond to facility needs and perform Medical Screening Exam as delegated.
  • Report to PSU Manager and CNO; may manage unit in absence of Manager.
  • Coordinate with all unit staff to ensure smooth operation.

Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator PSU and ED at Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington:
  • The PSU Nurse Coordinator has the responsibility to plan, direct organize coordinate and implement all nursing care services for the post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care.
  • Ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, TJC, and all Federal and State standards of care.
  • The RN cares for all ages from 2 years to geriatric.
  • This position is assigned to respond to patients presenting to the facility with a healthcare need and providing the Medical Screening Exam as delegated by the Medical Executive Committee.
  • This position reports to the PSU Manager and CNO and is in charge of the unit in the absence of the Manager.
  • All employees of the unit report to this position.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure/Certification:
  • Current Texas Nursing License.
  • Current CPR, ACLS preferred.
  • PALS recommended.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience as an RN in hospital Medical/Surgery preferred
  • Leadership and education experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in ER or ICU required
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Good organization habits.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
