Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Post Surgical Unit. This role supports patients after surgery, collaborating with surgeons and post-acute caregivers to ensure a smooth transition from pre- to post-op in a high-quality, safety-focused environment.

Schedule: Nights, 3x shifts per week with variable timing. Must have a Texas RN license, BCLS/ACLS, and orthopedic or surgical experience; PALS recommended.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program.
• Current Texas RN License.
• Current BCLS and ACLS certifications.
• PALS recommended.

Responsibilities

• The PSU Nurse provides nursing care for post-surgical patients per accepted standards of care.
• Ensures high-quality and safe patient care, maintaining compliance with nursing standards and The Joint Commission.
• The RN cares for patients from ages 2 years to geriatric.

• The PSU Nurse has the responsibility to provide all nursing care services for the post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care.
• He/She ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, The Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.
• The RN cares for all ages from 2 years to geriatric.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing
• Current Texas RN License
• Current BCLS, ACLS
• PALS recommended.

• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Good organization habits
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in an RN in hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit
• Strong ER experience preferred.
• 1-year orthopedic nursing experience, preferred.
