Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
• Current Texas RN License.
• Current BCLS, ACLS.
• PALS recommended.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in an RN in hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit.
• Strong ER experience preferred.
• 1-year orthopedic nursing experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for post-surgical patients in a manner aligned with standards of care.
• Ensure high-quality, safe patient care and compliance with Joint Commission and state/federal standards.
• Cares for patients from 2 years to geriatric age groups.

• The PSU Nurse has the responsibility to provide all nursing care services for the post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care.
