Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a dedicated Postpartum Registered Nurse to educate and assist new mothers during the postpartum period. As a nurse on the Mother Baby Unit, you will educate mothers on newborn care and provide compassionate support.

You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, plan and evaluate care, supervise staff, and respond to postpartum depression while delivering patient-centered care in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
• Associates Degree of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license with BLS; NRP preferred per policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments of mother and baby.
• Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed staff within RN scope.

• You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice andin accordance withestablished policies.

• You will provide education and emotional supportappropriate toage, culture, condition, and circumstance andrecognize and respond to symptoms such as those related topostpartumdepression.
