Job summary

Franciscan Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Munster Family Wellness Center to provide comprehensive nursing care in specialty clinics. The role supports providers, coordinates patient care, and serves as a liaison among patients, staff, and physicians.

The position features a Monday–Friday day shift with no weekends, sign-on bonus eligibility, and a focus on delivering compassionate, patient-centered care across multiple clinics in Indiana and Illinois.

Qualifications

• Required Associate’s Degree in Nursing/Patient Care
• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/Patient Care
• BLS certification - American Heart Association
• Registered Nurse license - State Licensing Board

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and rooming patients.
• Take vitals and obtain medical history.
• Administer vaccines, injections, and medications.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
• Start IVs; perform medication reconciliation.
• Triage and assist with procedures.
• Conduct rounds with providers.
• Deliver exceptional service to patients and internal/external customers.
• Communicate clearly and concisely to meet provider needs.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, medications, and treatment plans.
• Initiate prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills.
• Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.

At Franciscan the Registered Nurse (RNs) Specialty are responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients in our specialty clinics. This role is critical in assisting providers and coworkers in coordinating patient care as well as functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Sign-on Bonus Available (Ask Talent Acquisition Advisor if eligible for Sign-on Bonus)

• Monday through Friday, day shift. No weekends

• M/W/Th/F 8:30am-5:00pm and Tuesday 11:30am-8:00pm

• Provide direct patient care, rooming patients, taking vitals, obtain medical history, administer vaccines, injections, medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing, medication reconciliation, starting IVs, triage, assisting with procedures, and conduct rounds with providers.

• Exceptional service to those we are privileged to serve including internal and external customers,via phone, electronic and in person.

• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills on multiple levels. Analysis and critical thinking to support provider.

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnosis, medications, procedures, treatment plans and chronic care management.

• Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills.

• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required Associate’s Degree Nursing/Patient Care

• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree Nursing/Patient Care

• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

• Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board
