The Perioperative Circulator RN is accountable for the quality of care of nursing care rendered to patients. The Circulator assumes responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, identifying outcomes, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care of patients. Additionally, the Circulator role includes directing and supervising nursing care for patients in the perioperative setting. The Circulator is responsible for determining the educational and competency level of assistive personnel that he/she is delegating care.
