Job description

Registered Nurse - Perioperative Care - 36 Hours - Day Shift
  • Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
  • Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures the implementation of solutions.
  • Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision, including aiding with movement and placement of patients.
  • Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
  • Reports findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff and documents necessary records.
  • Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.
  • Schedule: 8:00AM – 8:30PM at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital – Warren.
Education/Experience Required:
  • BSN preferred; graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
  • Previous PACU or ICU experience preferred.
Certifications/Licensures Required:
  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
