Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks a Registered Nurse for the Medical Observation Unit at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. This per diem role supports day shifts, 7:00am–7:30pm, with a pay range $37.25–$57.74 hourly determined by experience.

You will assess patients, coordinate care plans, communicate with the care team and families, provide teaching, participate in quality improvement, and maintain current nursing practice standards. Illinois license and CPR required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited nursing program (required).
• Current Illinois state nursing license (required).
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association (required).

Responsibilities

• Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
• Coordinates patient plan of care to ensure interventions are safe, timely and appropriate.
• Communicates clearly with patients and care teams in person, on the phone and in writing.
• Delivers patient and family teaching based on assessed needs.
• Participates in evaluating nursing practice quality through quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintains knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.

Hourly Pay Range:

$37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Registered Nurse - Medical Observation Unit - Days
• Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL
• Per Diem Level I - must be able to work at least 48 hours every 6 weeks and 24 of those hours must be on weekend time if needed.
• Hours: 7:00am - 7:30pm

What you will do:

• Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
• Coordinates patient plan of care to assure interventions are consistent, safe, timely and appropriate.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with all customers, in person, on the phone and in writing.
• Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs.
• Participates in evaluating quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.

What you will need:

• Education: Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing, required.
• License: Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois, required.
• Certification: Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association, required.
