Job summary

The Pediatric Department at Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a per diem RN to work the night shift in the Pediatric Unit. You will care for patients aged 2 days to 18 years, with complex respiratory illnesses and IV therapy needs, operating with RN autonomy.

Qualifications include BSN or in progress, NJ RN license, BLS, and 15+ months of nursing experience; National Certification preferred. Per diem shifts require weekend work and holiday pay rate multipliers.

The Pediatric Department at Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a per diem RN to work the night shift. Patients that are admitted to the Pediatric Unit will include those aged two (2) days to eighteen (18) years. We care for patients with a wide range of complexities which include High Flow Nasal Cannula, any patient that needs higher acuity medical attention will be transferred to another facility.

In the case of a medical/surgical patient surge, adult patients may be admitted to the Pediatric Unit that have medical and surgical diagnoses requiring a mild level of care, with the expectation of a brief and uncomplicated hospitalization.

Scheduling Requirements (Tier 3):

• Work a minimum of seven shifts per six-week schedule.


• Two of these shifts must be fulfilled on the weekend.


• Work two holidays per calendar year. Per Diem RNs will be paid at 1.5 times the rate for all hours worked on these holidays.


• Based on your hired shift, work at least two ‘difficult to staff’ days per calendar year (Easter, Mother’s Day, Halloween, ‘Black Friday’, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Valentine’s Day or New Year’s Eve)


• Follow departmental call-out policy


• Make‑up absences within the same schedule period. Failure to comply with this on two occasions in a year will result in withdrawal of the employee from Per Diem status.

Education

• Active NJ RN license required.

Salary Range:

$49.96 - $68.99/Hourly
