Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMCU). The role focuses on providing high-acuity inpatient care for pediatric patients who need more support but not invasive monitoring.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to involve families in the care plan and ensure safety and quality at every shift. The position features 30-hour work weeks with 12-hour shifts on a rotating day/night schedule and every-other-weekend coverage,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Minimum 1 year inpatient acute RN experience.
• Massachusetts RN license required.

Position Summary/Department Summary:

The Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMCU) provides care for a patient population requiring a more acute level of care but do not require invasive monitoring. Common diagnoses are asthma, bronchiolitis, diabetic ketoacidosis, apnea, multisystem disorders and patients needing BiPAP and CPAP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing care for PIMCU patients.
• Working collaboratively to provide family-centered care as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• 30 hours rotating days/nights (12 hour shifts) and every other weekend. (Eligible for full time benefits)

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Experience:

• A minimum of 1 year of inpatient acute RN experience required.
• 2+ years of acute pediatric RN experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
