Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital's Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMCU) seeks a BSN-educated RN to care for acutely ill pediatric patients and to support family-centered care in a multidisciplinary team. The role includes 30 hours of rotating day/night shifts and every other weekend.

Required MA RN license, at least 1 year of inpatient acute experience, with 2+ years in pediatrics preferred. Benefits are included with eligibility for full-time options as noted.

Position Summary/Department Summary

The Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMCU) provides care for a patient population requiring a more acute level of care but do not require invasive monitoring. Common diagnoses are asthma, bronchiolitis, diabetic ketoacidosis, apnea, multisystem disorders and patients needing BiPAP and CPAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing care for PIMCU patients.
• Working collaboratively to provide family-centered care as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• 30 hours rotating days/nights (12 hour shifts) and every other weekend. (Eligible for full time benefits)

Education

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of inpatient acute RN experience required.
• 2+ years of acute pediatric RN experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications

• Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
