- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care for pediatric patients
- Provide medical care to children from birth through late teens in a 40+ bed pediatric unit
- Care for patients with orthopedic, surgical, gastrointestinal, neurological, endocrine, oncology and general pediatric conditions
- Review patient histories, diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results
- Formulate and revise individualized plans of care and discharge plans
- Deliver direct patient care and coordinate, delegate and supervise healthcare team activities
- Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, physician orders and patient responses
- Participate in research, shared leadership, education, orientation, precepting and mentoring
- Contribute to nursing quality improvement and patient outcome initiatives
- Interact with staff, physicians, patients, families, external providers and clergy
Requirements
- Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice
- BLS certification is required
- Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice
- Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area
- RN Pediatric experience required
- Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of work through annual validations
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Professional certification preferred
- Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check is required
