Job summary

AdventHealth in Sebring, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time day shifts in a high-acuity environment. You will perform assessments, coordinate care, and ensure safe handoffs while upholding regulatory standards.

Requirements include an Associate's in Nursing and RN licensure with BLS; a Bachelor's in Nursing is preferred. Eligible for sign-on/relocation bonuses; benefits begin on day one.

• EKG interpretation class preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to acute/PCU/ICU patients.
• Perform initial patient assessments and plan/discharge needs.
• Maintain safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate handoffs.
• Document care and communicate with patients, families, and staff.
• Support team collaboration to manage patient flow.

Job Description:

• Shift-Day
• Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus * For Eligible Candidates

• Participates in peer interviewing and review processes.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
• Maintains safe practices by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Participates in hourly rounding using the Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You (AIDET) technique to improve patient outcomes.
• Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance.
• Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient clinical critical care skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills [Required]
• Basic computer skills and commitment to hourly patient rounding [Required]
• Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
• Must possess frequent independent judgment and the ability to handle clinical situations requiring sound professional judgment and critical‑thinking skills, including clinical assessment, data analysis, and patient response. [Preferred]
• Responsible for providing quality patient care and continuously prioritizing multiple duties. [Preferred]
• Ability to function calmly and professionally during stressful situations. [Preferred]
• Utilization of assessment, reassessment, and critical‑thinking skills in dealing with changes in patient outcomes. [Preferred]
• General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, as well as the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications. [Preferred]
• Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to foster an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility. [Preferred]
• Skill to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner that encourages the open exchange of ideas and information. [Preferred]

$31.53 - $50.40
