Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati is seeking a Registered Nurse to interview patients, document in the EMR, record vital signs, and assist physicians during examinations while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The RN will document nursing history, initiate patient education plans, abstract patient records, and use Centricity EMR. Expect emergency response duties and adherence to nursing standards with a minimum of 3 years RN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• The organization hires AD and Diploma nurses; BSN preferred.
• Minimum RN experience: 3 years preferred.
• Required skills include defibrillator, BP monitor, EKG equipment, treadmill and crash cart maintenance, copier, fax, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to determine medical problems and document in EMR; record vital signs and assist physician during examinations; explain procedures to gain cooperation and comfort.
• Follow up on physician orders and lab requests; inform patients of test results and further treatment; document services in EMR for billing; monitor patient condition and notify supervisor or physician of any issues; assist physician in clinical care.
• Document nursing history and physical assessment in EMR; initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physician.
• Abstract patient records via EMR; use EMR functions such as tasking, messaging, and disease management; use Centricity and other software to support nursing functions.
• Respond to emergencies per nursing standards; maintain crash cart and defibrillator; perform other duties as assigned.
