Job summary

Owensboro Health Medical Group in Owensboro, KY, is seeking a registered nurse for the Pain Management team. Provides direct nursing care per policies and procedures, working full time with Monday to Friday 7:30am–5:00pm schedule.

You will implement and monitor care plans, coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team, document patient conditions, and support discharge planning and patient education. Requires RN license in Kentucky and BLS within 45 days.

Qualifications

  • RN license in Kentucky required upon hire.
  • Associate degree or nursing diploma required at hire.
  • BLS certification required within 45 days of employment.
  • No prior experience required.

Job Summary:

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team.
  • Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
  • Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.
Position Requirements:
  • Work Experience: No experience required
  • Education: Associate's degree or higher or Diploma in Nursing required upon hire
  • Additional Education Information: None
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position
