Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center, part of Methodist Health System, seeks a registered nurse to provide high-quality patient care using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation. You will support the hospital’s mission and maintain a safe, therapeutic care environment.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing degree, Texas license, and BLS certification, with at least 12 months of RN experience. Work is Monday–Friday, with 40 hours weekly and PRN shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so.
• Work experience: 12 months of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
• Assumes responsibility for the nursing components of the patient/family/significant other.
• Communicates to the team, co-workers, patients, and family members and evaluates understanding of informational manner.
• Provides a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, coworkers, and facility.
• Ensures complete, accurate, and timely written communication of patient information.
• Provides a therapeutic environment through safe, accurate, and timely medication and IV administration.
• Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance and for professional growth and development.
• Utilizes the nursing process to ensure quality patient care throughout the episode of care.
• Other duties as assigned.
