The PACU RN practices consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Goshen Health, the Department of Nursing’s Philosophy, and model of care. The role involves practicing professional nursing at an excellent level within the Goshen nursing model of care, focusing primarily on the patient and family. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process, culturally appropriate interventions, and holistic principles, with attention to continuity of care and patient advocacy, all while maintaining a safe environment. The PACU RN is a leader in professional nursing, both in direct patient care and colleague relationships, guided by ethical principles, collaboration, peer review, evidence-based practice, and teaching & learning principles.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• Registered nurse with a valid Indiana State RN license.
• Colleagues hired with an associate degree must enter a BSN program within 12 months of hire and earn their BSN from an NLN or CCNE accredited program within 5 years of beginning their BSN degree.
• Effective February 2021, colleagues hired with an associate degree and 10 or more years of nursing experience may be exempt from entering into a BSN program.

Certifications Required:

• Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
