Job Description
The RN Staff Nurse Outpatient reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

1. Provide nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs, ensuring safety and quality.
2. Coordinate care delivery and utilize appropriate assistance to optimize patient outcomes.
3. Engage patients and families in care, education, and discharge planning.
4. Perform all patient care aspects, adhering to safety standards and reducing errors.
5. Assess and manage pain effectively, educating patients and families on pain management techniques.
6. Ensure effective hand-offs during shift changes and care transitions.
7. Participate in on-call responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for all hires after 01/01/2011
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Illinois
• Minimum of one year experience in a similar role
• CPR – Basic Life Support
• CPR – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (not required in some cost centers, with up to 6 months post-hire to complete)
• CPR – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (not required in some cost centers)

Preferred:

• Three years of experience in a similar role
