Job summary

American Geriatrics Society is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Orthopedic Unit on night shift at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role is full time, 36 hours per week, with 7:00pm–7:30am shifts and every-other-weekend coverage.

You will perform patient assessments, coordinate plans of care, and communicate with patients, families, and care teams. You will also support education, participate in quality improvement, and maintain current nursing practice standards.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure to practice nursing in Illinois.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
• Coordinates patient plan of care to assure interventions are safe, timely and appropriate.
• Communicates clearly with patients, families and care teams in person, on the phone and in writing.
• Educates patients and families based on assessments to meet learning needs.
• Participates in evaluating nursing practice through quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintains knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.

Hourly Pay Range

$36.00 - $55.80. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.

What you will need
