Registered Nurse Orthopedic Rehab Full Time Nights

Up to $25,000 Sign on Bonus, based on relevant experience

Unit Specializes in: 1 west is the designated Rehab unit with 12 beds. Patients are transferred from multiple units with orthopedic surgeries, post-trauma, LTACH (select care), MVA. RNs trained in EKG interpretation. RN ratios of 1:6 with acuity-based assignments. Team conference with PT/OT/speech therapy.

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is DMC’s largest hospital, offering a comprehensive heart center, cancer care, gerontology, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and cosmetic services. Sinai-Grace’s joint replacement program features minimally invasive knee and hip replacement surgeries attracting patients nationwide. It operates over 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties, and has received a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to help set national standards in cardiac care.

Job Description

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for nursing care completion by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members including support services. The RN role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

The DMC RN:

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers
• Delegates, assesses, provides, and evaluates patient care
• Provides and delegates patient care activities to team members
• Monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge
• Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from a school of nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Licensed to practice as an RN in Michigan required
• AHA BLS certification required
