An established industry player is seeking a dedicated registered nurse for their Ortho/Neuro/Peds Unit. The Ortho/Neuro/Peds Unit is a 30-bed medical, surgical, and pediatric specialty unit. Ortho and Neuro programs in the ONP unit are Rush Copley Strategic Initiatives. We are a part of the Center for Joint Reconstruction and Replacement Program and Primary Stroke Center. Our 6-bed pediatric population is predominantly medical with respiratory illnesses and is treated by pediatric-trained nurses. The RN retention rate at the ONP unit is the highest among other inpatient units, with an excellent nursing skill mix and customized new employee orientation. Applying for a nursing position in the ONP unit does not require prior pediatric experience.
The registered nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patients’ status, plan of care, and goal achievement. Care is provided in a compassionate, professional, ethical, and knowledgeable fashion based on the Caring Model, exemplifies the mission, vision, and values of Rush Copley, and is in accordance with policies and procedures. The registered nurse is expected to uphold the most ethical and safe processes while keeping the care of the patient as a top priority. The position works closely with the entire multidisciplinary team and must have a complete understanding of their own limitations and, in turn, seek advice, judgment, and support from others when necessary.
