Job summary

Duly Health - Lombard seeks a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a PRN, part-time basis, in Lombard, IL. This role delivers perioperative patient care across preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative stages.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, an active RN license, current BLS, ACLS and PALS, and at least two years of OR experience with scrub and circulate skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care through the nursing process in the preoperative, interoperative and postoperative phase.
  • Assess physiological and psychosocial health status of patient.
  • Assesses pain per policy and completes patient history.
  • Verbal reports pertinent information to ensure continuity of care.
  • Legibly documents information in patient records and signs records with professional title.
  • Establishes patient/family goals and plans of care.
  • Implements nursing care plans tailored to patient/family needs.
  • Responds to emergencies and adheres to legal/ethical guidelines.
  • Demonstrates aseptic technique and ensures proper turnover and case counting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

The delivery of patient care through the framework of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis and patient outcome) in the preoperative, interoperative and postoperative phase of the surgical patient.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrates current, comprehensive professional knowledge and skills in conformance with recognized nursing standards and department policies including the Patient Bill of Rights and JCAHO regulations, Standards for Nursing Care and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Assesses physiological and psychosocial health status of patient.
  • Verbally reports pertinent information to appropriate staff to provide continuity of care.
  • Legibly documents information in patient record and signs record using appropriate professional title.
  • Assesses level of understanding and expectations of care.
  • Establishes patient/family goals that are mutually acceptable.
  • Formulates Plan of Care for the patient.
  • Implements nursing care plans tailored to patient/family needs.
  • Demonstrates ability to assess and problem solve.
