Job summary

Endeavor Health in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for multiple locations across our system. The role involves planning and delivering care, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team, and educating patients and families about disease management and treatment options.

The RN will assess patients, document findings, and communicate plans to physicians. Strong emphasis on HIPAA compliance, wound/ostomy care, and patient-centered teaching drives professional development and quality

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Active Illinois RN license and BLS certification required.
  • Previous OR experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a plan of care and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
  • Performs patient assessment and health data collection.
  • Communicates plan to patient/family and care team; documents data.
  • Provides patient and family teaching and supports learning.
  • Participates in professional development with peers.
  • Provide support to staff with injections, venipuncture, meds, oxygen therapy, and IV management.
  • Participates in PI activities and wound/ostomy/skin care trends.
  • Conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care when skilled.
  • Complies with HIPAA.
  • Assist in transporting acutely ill patients.

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do:
  • Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluates patient?s progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.
  • Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. .
  • Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient?s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.
  • Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assesses patient?s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly. Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.
  • Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.
  • Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support
  • Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, 02 therapy, and IV management.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keeps abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities. Supports staff in using research and providing evidence-based care
  • If skilled, conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients. Monitors effectiveness of wound/ostomy treatment plans and other aspects of wound/ostomy/skin care
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.
What you will need:
  • Education: Successful completion of an associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing
  • Certification: Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Active Illinois State Nursing License Required and Basic Life Support (BLS) - through AHA
  • Experience: Previous OR experience strongly preferred
