Pyramid Healthcare in Gastonia, NC is hiring Overnight Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to deliver safe, compassionate care in a detox setting. The role emphasizes strong bedside manner, professionalism, and de-escalation skills while supporting patients through their recovery journey.

The positions require NC RN or LPN licensure, CPR/BLS and First Aid, and experience in behavioral health is preferred.

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN license.
Current, unrestricted North Carolina LPN license.
CPR/BLS and First Aid certification required.
Behavioral health, detoxification, addiction treatment, or substance use services experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Conduct nursing assessments and monitor clients throughout the overnight shift.
Administer medications safely according to physician orders.
Monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms using detox protocols.
Complete COWS and CIWA assessments per protocol.
Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and recovery process.
Coordinate with on-call medical providers for assessments and changes in condition.
Respond to medical and behavioral health emergencies using sound clinical judgment.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure equipment readiness.
Perform all required trainings and certifications.

Freedom Detox – Overnight RN & LPN

Gastonia, NC | Full-Time | Overnight Shift w/ rotating weekends | $35 - $40 per hour

Freedom Detox, a Pyramid Healthcare program, is seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our overnight nursing team in Gastonia, NC.

As an overnight nurse, you’ll play a critical role in providing safe, high-quality medical care and support to adults receiving detoxification services. We’re looking for clinicians with a strong bedside manner, exceptional professionalism, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to remain calm while effectively de-escalating challenging situations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct nursing assessments and monitor clients throughout the overnight shift.
Administer medications safely, accurately, and in accordance with physician orders.
Monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms using established detoxification protocols.
Complete COWS and CIWA assessments per clinical protocol.
Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and the recovery process.
Coordinate with on-call medical providers regarding client assessments, medication needs, and changes in condition.
Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral health emergencies using sound clinical judgment.
Utilize strong de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for clients and staff.
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation.
Ensure medical equipment and supplies are maintained and functioning properly.
Complete all required trainings, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensure & Experience

Registered Nurse (RN)

Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN license.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Current, unrestricted North Carolina LPN license.

Both Positions

Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification.
Previous experience in behavioral health, detoxification, addiction treatment, or substance use services is preferred but not required.
