Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will oversee the health and well‑being of residents, implement care plans, and provide expert nursing care in a collaborative environment. You will support a compassionate culture and strive to improve resident outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ health status, including physical, mental, and emotional well‑being.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on residents’ needs and goals.
• Monitor health conditions, document changes, and communicate findings to physicians and the care team.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical orders.
• Provide wound care, IV therapy, and other advanced treatments as needed.
• Perform routine medical procedures (vitals, injections, dressing wounds) per protocol.
• Supervise and support nursing staff (CNAs, LPNs); provide guidance and training.
• Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with leadership to maintain optimal resident care.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Educate residents and families on care plans, treatment options, and preventive health measures.
• Coordinate care with physicians, dietitians, social workers, and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date medical records in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and state/federal regulations.
• Participate in care audits and quality improvement reviews.
• Respond to medical emergencies promptly, provide immediate interventions, and stabilize residents.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or obtain upon hire).
• Additional certifications (e.g., wound care, IV therapy) may be required or preferred.
• Previous experience in a nursing role, preferably in long‑term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings.
• Experience in supervisory roles and leadership is a plus.
