Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the perioperative team. You will collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to deliver high-quality intraoperative care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Responsibilities include managing urgent surgical situations, maintaining sterile OR conditions, and documenting care while communicating clearly with the team to ensure seamless patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license is required; compact license holders have 60 days to obtain Florida licensure after relocation.
• BLS-AHA Provider card required within 30 days of start.
• Perioperative experience or completion of Perioperative Nursing course preferred.
• 1 year RN experience in an Acute Care environment preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of start.
• CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and address urgent and emergent surgical situations.
• Foster continuity and quality of care in the best interests of patients.
• Assess and monitor patients’ medical status in the OR.
• Assess patient’s condition and monitor vitals, providing general nursing care.
• Ensure the OR is prepared with supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment.
• Keep the operating room sterilized.
• Review charts for completeness per documentation protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a dynamic RN to join our Peri-operative team. As an RN in OR setting you will collaborate with other members of the health care team including physicians, to deliver quality health care. In this role you will provide the best possible preventative and supportive intra-operative care to each patient based upon their individual needs.

What you will do in this role:

• Recognize and address urgent and emergent surgical situation
• Foster continuity and quality of care in the best interests of patients

• Assess patient’s condition and monitor vitals, providing general nursing care
• Ensure the Operating Room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment

• Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
• BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start
• Minimum 1 year previous perioperative experience or completion of Perioperative Nursing course preferred
• 1 year of RN experience in an Acute Care environment preferred
• BSN is preferred
• ACLS, PALS (AHA Healthcare provider) required within 6 months of start
• CNOR preferred
