Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking passionate nurses to join Frankfort Hospital, with shifts for part-time daytime hours. This pipeline program pairs upcoming and recent nurse graduates with opportunities across IU Health, supporting growth in clinical expertise and patient-care excellence.

Qualifications

  • ASN or BSN nursing degree required or preferred.
  • Active RN license in Indiana or NLC required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care along care continuum.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to plan and implement care.
  • Assess patient needs, identify outcomes, and document care plans.
  • Provide teaching and mentorship to peers and new graduates.

At Frankfort Hospital OR, our general patient population includes all adult patients for general surgery, podiatry, and endoscopy. Our nurses cross-train for pre and post recovery.

Our schedule includes no weekends, no nights, no holidays, and no on-call.

Our department hours of operation are 7:00am - 4:00 pm, M-F.

The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
