Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse – Operating Room / Surgery for a 13-week travel assignment in Canton, GA. You will support the Surgery department with variable 12-hour day shifts and required call coverage, delivering perioperative care.

Prepare the OR, collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers and the OR team, and maintain strict infection-control standards while documenting patient care per Northside Hospital Cherokee policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room/Surgery RN experience.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• AHA ACLS certification required.
• Previous travel experience required.
• Must be available for variable day shifts (approx. 6:30 AM–7:00 PM) and call coverage.
• Must live >50 miles from Northside Hospital Cherokee and meet holiday requirements.

Responsibilities

• Staff the OR on a 13-week travel assignment.
• Provide professional nursing care to surgical patients perioperatively.
• Assist with pre-operative assessment and patient preparation.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR team.
• Prepare the operating room and ensure equipment and supplies are ready.
• Maintain infection-control and sterile-technique standards.
• Assist with patient positioning, intraoperative care, and postoperative handoff.
• Monitor patient status and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
• Support surgical counts and OR safety protocols.

• Pay Range: $61 - $66/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• As a Registered Nurse – Operating Room / Surgery, you will be stationed in Canton, GA, supporting the Surgery department on a 13-week travel assignment.
• This role involves variable 12-hour day shifts and required call coverage, allowing you to showcase your expertise in the Operating Room.
• Provide professional nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process.
• Assist with pre-operative assessment and preparation of patients.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the OR team.
• Prepare the operating room and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Maintain patient safety and strict adherence to infection-control and sterile-technique standards.
• Assist with patient positioning, surgical preparation, and intraoperative care.
• Monitor patients and communicate changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare team.
• Assist with surgical counts and other OR safety protocols.
• Provide appropriate post-operative care and patient handoff.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow Northside Hospital policies and procedures.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room/Surgery RN experience.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• AHA ACLS certification required.
• Previous travel experience required.
• Must be available for variable day shifts, approximately 6:30 AM–7:00 PM.
• Must be available for required call coverage.
• Must live more than 50 miles from Northside Hospital Cherokee.
• Must be available to meet Northside's holiday requirements.
